The Magnetic Theatre Company Presents The World Premiere Of Asheville-Based Comedy Mountain Political Action Committee By Honor Moor

ASHEVILLE, NC:  The Magnetic Theatre will present the world premiere of Asheville-area playwright Honor Moor’s locally inspired political-comedy Mountain Political Action Committee.   The production will run weekends at The Magnetic Theatre, located at 375 Depot Street, in the River Arts district, starting on February 22 and continue, through March 10, with performances Thursdays- Saturdays at 7:30pm.

Mountain Political Action Committee is Moor’s first play; however, she has been involved with theatre as an actor, both locally and nationally, for decades.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Asheville Community Theatre.  She has a long history of involvement in the Asheville community and her first play draws heavily on her involvement and knowledge of the area.

Taking place in the wake of personal and political devastation after the 2016 election, a group of dedicated “survivors” band together in Asheville, North Carolina.  Mismatched, underfunded, and unprepared but committed; they look to make the difference in the local lives that have been upended in the new political landscape.

The production is being directed by Michael Lilly.  The cast includes Delina Hensley, Tara Theodossis, Scott Cameron, Tim Plaut, and Cary Nichols. The production stage manager is Jessica Johnson an Abby Auman is providing the lighting and scenic design.
