Serafina and the Black Cloak at Barnes and Noble and Malaprops, Asheville
by Melisa Lizarraga
Robert Beatty will be hosting several events in Asheville, presenting his recent hit Serafina and the Black Cloak. Serafina and the Black Cloak was published July 2015 and has since become a New York Times Bestseller, Amazon and Barnes and Noble Bestseller, Publisher’s Weekly Bestseller, and a USA Today Bestseller. It is marketed for adults and young readers.
Serafina and the Black Cloak is an adventure following Serafina, a young girl who lives with her pa in the basement of the Biltmore Estate. Together, they live in secret and Serafina creeps through the halls at night, unbeknownst to the residents of the estate. When she stumbles upon a mysterious kidnapping involving a strange man wearing an even stranger black cloak, Serafina’s life changes completely. To help stop more children from disappearing, Serafina must join forces with Braeden, the nephew of the Biltmore owners. Together, they must unravel the magical mysteries of the Man in the Black Cloak.
Beatty lives in Asheville with his wife and three daughters. The inspiration for Serafina and the Black Cloak largely came from his inspiration to write about a young female heroine for his daughters.
These events will be free, although early arrival is suggested.
