Kap Slap Drops His Funky EDM Grooves at Orange Peel, Asheville

Before Kap Slap had released his first original production on Ultra Records, in 2015, he had already headlined sold out tours simultaneously racking up millions of plays on SoundCloud. Between the rapidly evolving music industry and the new generation of music fans consumed by the Internet, Kap Slap found himself smack in the middle of America’s EDM takeover. In the confines of a small dormitory, Kap Slap, aka Jared Lucas, was making electronic music marketable to first time listeners by blending mainstream top 40 tracks with the yet to be discovered house music that has become so popular today.

In January of 2015, Kap Slap released his highly anticipated first original, “Let It All Out” which featured vocalist Angelika Vee, most known for her work with Morgan Page and Thomas Newson. “Let It All Out” debuted at #17 on the iTunes dance charts and has garnered over a million plays online. In the first week of its release, Kap Slap made his debut appearance on Sirius XM Radio via BPM where “Let It All Out” was in rotation weekly. The success of his first official release not only led to support from his peers, but additional support and respect from icons in the electronic music world.

Kap Slap has become a household name on the festival circuit making appearances at Spring Awakening, Snow Globe, Counterpoint, Paradiso, and more. In addition to festivals, Kap Slap closed out his headlining tour in the spring of 2015 with Gazzo and Jai Wolf. The strength of his fan base doubled after the release of his first original which led to selling out reputable venues in major markets like Webster Hall in NYC and 9:30 Club in Washington DC.
